Hollyfield's Got Talent

Posted by: Ben Ryan on 01-02-2018

The end of January saw the search for Hollyfield’s next big name. Last Thursday and Friday the year 7’s auditioned for Hollyfield’s Got Talent in front of a packed hall of their peers.

Thursday saw 6 acts audition: Cerys Mead, Karim Abdullah, Kassia Sebuliba and Jess Pretty, Willow Walker-Todd, Ivy Simpson and Mr Esmond’s Ukulele Club. The hall was buzzing as the nerves subsided and the acts amazed us all with their talent.

Friday offered just as much talent as the previous lunchtime with auditions from Megan Smith and Emma Thomas, Sophia Martin, Amy Gwilliams and Morgan Du Toit.

Having the weekend to prepare the final auditions took place this week on Monday with year 8 and 9 students auditioning for a spot in the final. Morgan Reilly, Erin Crombie, Safeer Tahir, Elizabeth Flower, Ashton Stevens-Martin, Oliver Stringfellow, Sebastian Ranmauth.

Seven acts went through to final which took place on Tuesday. Under the critical eyes of Mr Redfearn, Ms Richardson and Mme Bouchard, our finalists took to the stage. Morgan Reilly, Safeer Tahir, Cerys Mead, Willow Walker-Todd, Ivy Simpson, Megan Smith / Emma Thomas, Amy Gwilliams.

After the judging panel deliberated Morgan Reilly was announced as the winner of Hollyfield’s Got Talent for 2018 with Ivy Simpson and Emma Thomas coming in as runner ups. Congratulations for the effort of the students involved and congratulations Morgan.
