Psychology Update

Posted by: Rachel Dowie on 23-03-2018

The Psychology department has made excellent progress during the Spring term as both Year 12 and year 13 have completed all topics from the specification. Over the Easter break all students must ensure they undertake a significant amount of revision in order to be fully prepared for their PPE’s the first week back.

Year 13 will be assessed on unit 2: Approaches, Biopsychology and Research Methods, on Thursday 19th April at 1:15pm.

Year 12 will be assessed on both units. Unit 1: Social influence, Memory and Attachment, on Monday 16th April at 11am. Unit 2: Approaches, Psychopathology and Research Methods on Tuesday 17th April at 1:15pm.

In order to provide extra support, essential exam preparation and boost their grades a revision session will be running for year 12 on Tuesday 3rd April at 9:30am. They should make every effort to attend. In addition, students who have been provided with additional revision resources must ensure they complete them to give them the best chance of success in their exams.

The Psychology department would like to take this opportunity to remind students to make use of the Google Classroom account to communicate with their teachers and access all classroom resources in the shared folder. We would also like to promote the use of revision guides, flashbooks and the AQA revision app to aid students in their independent study! Furthermore they should investigate opportunities to attend student conferences on offer in London to enhance their exam performance. We hope that all of our students use the plethora of revision resources available to them to ensure they achieve their full potential.

The Psychology department will now be using lessons to revise and prepare for exams – it is essential that students maintain their high level of attendance to all lessons.

We hope we will be sharing the success of our students on results day! Remember, there is no secret to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.
