GCSE Press Release – Hollyfield School

The Hollyfield School once again proved its commitment to excellence with 25% of entries receiving A*-A grades (9-7) and 41% with A*-B (9-6) grades. In English 79% of entries received a good pass and in Maths 81% of entries received the same. In single Sciences a fantastic 97% of entries achieved a good pass.

Notable successes include Ellie Tong who achieved 10 A*-A grades (or equivalent) and Ellen Bradbury and Alice Bourne who both achieved 9 A*-A grades (or equivalent)

Hollyfield student Hallie Herbertson, who achieved 11 A*-A grades (or equivalent), said she was shocked by her fantastic results! Adding “I would never have believed that all my hard work would have produced results like this”

Head Teacher Mr Maltby responded to such a strong set of results by congratulating students on their hard work and commitment. “This was a challenging year for students and teachers alike with the introduction of many new subject curriculums alongside additional examinations. I am so proud of our students’ resilience and commitment and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces this morning after all their hard work. A significant number of students have chosen to remain at our sixth form which is fantastic and we wish all our students well in the next stage of their academic life. The wide range of pathways that have been chosen in response to these outcomes, including BTEC courses, reflects the school’s continued inclusive ethos and that of the Every Child Every Day Academy Trust”.
