Important Messages: Welcome to Hollyfield!

This week a number of our Year 11 students took part in some mock interviews and speed networking with some of our local Employers, from Metro Bank, Adult and Community services, The Army, Healthcare, Business and Personal Development, the staff from the local Achieving for Children team helped organise the day. The sessions were run across the morning giving each student time with an Employer for a mock interview with constructive feedback on their interview skills, then the tables were turned and the students got the opportunity to rotate around the Employers and ask them questions about their jobs, how they got into their current careers, qualifications and opportunities in the different areas of work amongst others.

The morning was a great success and all the Employers fed back that they had been impressed with the students and had enjoyed the experience; the students said on their feedback forms that they rated the experience of the mock interview as good or excellent, with comments like ' I learned about different careers', 'I have learnt the importance of being confident', I learnt how to sell myself well' ' I definately feel better prepared for an interview and I learnt that I can achieve what I want if I put my mind to it, work hard and am detemined'.

We hope to conduct more mock interviews for other students later in the term.
