GCSE Press Release

Posted by: Josh Blakley on 24-08-2017

Once again The Hollyfield School has produced a strong set of GCSE results with 80% of students achieving 5 A-C or more “good” pass grades and for 72% of our students this included both English and Maths. The percentage of students achieving the new 9 grade, which replaces A*, is above national average.

98% of students achieved a C grade or above in Biology, Chemistry and Physics and 100% of students achieved a B grade or above in Further Maths and Computer Science. Particular congratulations must go to Kai Pischke, Chris Abraham & Andrea Morarant who all got 10 A* or equivalent grades and to the 56% of our students who achieved at B Grade or above.

Whilst acknowledging these fantastic successes there has also been good and consistent progress for all our students, regardless of starting point. The Hollyfield School is a truly inclusive school that embraces the ‘Every Child Every Day’ philosophy. Headteacher Maggie Bailey said of the results “I am delighted that The Hollyfield School has secured such a strong set of results at a time of significant national changes. It is wonderful to see so many happy students moving forward on their chosen pathway; we wish them every success in the next stage of their academic life”
