Attendance & Punctuality

Attendance:

If you are not in school then you must have a justifiable reason and parents must telephone the school before 8:15am on the first day of absence and your child should bring a written letter when they return to school.

If your child is away from school for more than two days, parents must send a written note to the school office on the third day of absence to tell us what is wrong and the reason for the child's absence.

Absences away from school without the school's permission is truancy and will be reported as such.

Attendance below 90% means your child are designated as a persistent absentee which will automatically trigger involvement of the Attendance Officer

The 24 hour dedicated absence line is: 0208 339 4518

Punctuality:

All pupils are expected to be in school by 8:30am each day to register with their form tutor. If a pupil is late without a good reason they will automatically be given a 20-minute detention which they will serve at lunchtime that day.  Should your child not attend this detention they will be expected to serve a 30-minute detention that evening after school has ended. The Attendance Officer will notify parents that this is happening. Failure to attend this will result in further sanctions being applied.

If there are major road problems on any day which means lots of pupils are arriving late through no fault of their own then the Attendance Officer will not expect pupils to attend detentions as it is unreasonable.
