Teacher of Science & PE

Full time, permanent position

Salary: Outer London Main/Upper Pay Range

 We are looking for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic full time Teacher of Science & PE to join our over-subscribed school.

This post is suitable for an experienced teacher or an ECT who would receive excellent support from a hardworking and dedicated department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is committed to inspiring and motivating students through their innovative and engaging teaching.

Science is held in high regard at The Hollyfield School and the proportion of students taking Separate Sciences is much higher than the national average. Many go on to study the three Sciences at A Level in our thriving sixth form. We are currently developing our knowledge-rich curriculum in conjunction with our partner science departments in the Trust in order to provide our students with a world class programme of study. The science department has an excellent extra-curricular offering with trips that include an annual visit to CERN in Geneva, London Zoo and the Big Bang Fair, with a large proportion of our students taking Separate Science GCSE (with specialist teachers) and then progressing on to Science A Levels.

The candidate would also teach predominantly boys' physical education in our thriving and popular PE Department. There will be options to teach at each key stage with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 PE classes at GCSE, A level and Btech. Additional responsibilities will also include organising extra-curricular opportunities for students in a wide range of sports and activities.
